Branding consists of so many different things.

Yes, it’s your logo, your website, your business cards…but those are just the outward-facing pieces that help create either a first impression or solidifies how someone could feel about your brand.

But visuals are just a small part of branding. A very small part.

Branding is knowing who you are as a business and who you serve…

Like really know.

Branding can be a huge, complex, ever growing thing.

Branding includes your vision — not just an idea — but your big picture, pie-in-the-sky, vision…

What does your business have that no one else has? How do you solve a problem in a way that truly delivers results? Where do you see your brand in 5 years?

Branding includes knowing who your ideal clients are…

It’s knowing who would buy your products and understanding what factors drive their purchasing decisions.

It’s knowing how you want to position your business in a way that stands out from your competitors.

Branding includes your core values…

How you answer the phones…

How you end your emails…

How you build the culture of your company…

How your product or service makes someone feel.

Branding includes establishing your personality and voice as a business. It’s how you connect with your current and potential customers.

Branding is the combination of all these things and the promise you make to your customers.

Branding is also your reputation. And while we should do our best to be clear about who we are and what we’re all about, at the end of the day, It’s what our customers say about us and our business when we’re not around.

That can be a really great thing…or a really bad thing.
